Wok on Air

T1 ★ 2.5 $$$$

Hot noodles instead of burgers: that’s the play at T1’s Wok on Air

In Adelaide T1’s departures zone, Wok on Air fills the gap when you want a made-to-order stir-fry instead of grabbing the nearest burger. It sits airside in the main food court, so you’re already through security before you queue. Expect mid-range airport pricing ($$) and a very middle-of-the-road rating around 2.5 stars, which lines up with “fine, not amazing” feedback from regular flyers.

The hook is everything hits the pan to order: wok-fried noodles, rice dishes, and basic stir-fries rather than food sitting in a warmer. One Google reviewer in 2022 said the noodles were “decent and freshly cooked, better than grabbing fast food,” which tracks with most comments. Think simple sauces, a few protein add-ons, and vegetables tossed together while you wait at the counter.

On price-to-portion, expectations need a reset. Multiple reviews from 2020–2022 call out smaller serves for the cost, calling it “nice to have an Asian option” but not great value. You’re paying the usual airport premium for a bowl that’s closer to a light meal than a full dinner, so plan on backing it up with a snack from another T1 outlet if you’re properly hungry.

Service speed is the other recurring theme. Because every dish is cooked fresh, it can take longer than nearby grab-and-go spots. One reviewer noted it “took a bit longer than expected but at least it wasn’t sitting in a warmer.” If your boarding pass shows less than 25–30 minutes to departure, this line probably isn’t the best choice.

Regulars tend to hit Wok on Air when they want a lighter Asian-style meal before flying and have a decent buffer in T1. Smart move: order as soon as you reach the food court, then find a seat with a view of your exact gate so you can keep an eye on boarding while you wait for your stir-fry.
