Power points plus tables make Hudsons Coffee the laptop stop

In T1 at Adelaide Airport, Hudsons Coffee is the sit-down option when you want more than a takeaway cup at the gate. It runs typical airport hours aligned with first and last flights in T1, and pricing lands in the mid range ($$) for the terminal. Think chain-standard espresso drinks, basic pastries, and a few light bites rather than a full meal.

The seating is the real draw here. Regulars call out that Hudsons has more tables and chairs than the smaller kiosks near the T1 security area and central concourse. It’s one of the few spots where you can actually open a 13-inch laptop, plug in, and stay put for 30–40 minutes before a boarding call rather than hovering over a tiny ledge table.

Coffee quality sits middle of the road. Reviews average around 2.5 stars, with several locals noting it’s fine for an airport but not on par with CBD cafés along Rundle Mall or Gouger Street. One reviewer bluntly says it’s “better than instant on the plane,” which is about the right expectation for a flat white or long black here.

Service speed is the main gripe. Morning bank of flights from around 06:00 to 09:00 can back the line up 10–15 minutes, and several 2021–2022 reviews mention slow output when three or four baristas handle a full queue. If you cut it close for a 07:30 departure out of T1, this is not a splash-and-dash espresso stop.

What regulars do: they build in an extra 10 minutes, grab a medium latte and a pastry, then camp at a table with a power outlet while watching the T1 departure screens. Tip: if the queue stretches past the main counter, skip the hot food and order just coffee and a muffin; those come out noticeably faster during the rush.
