- P2 Outdoor Car Park, James Schofield Drive, Adelaide Airport SA 5950, Australia
300 metres from T1, but priced like off-airport parking
P2 Outdoor Car Park sits about 0.3 miles from Adelaide Airport’s T1, signed as a “remote” option but still within the official airport precinct. It’s open-air, uncovered bays only, so your car sits in the elements the whole stay. This is one of the cheaper on-airport choices, usually undercutting the terminal-adjacent P1 when you’re leaving the car for several days.
This lot works best for trips of 3 days or more, where the daily rate difference versus P1 starts to matter. You still use the main terminal at ADL (T1 only), so factor in the short transfer or walk on top of check-in and security time. Pre-booking online often shaves a few dollars per day compared with drive-up prices, especially in school holidays and long weekends.
P2 Outdoor is signed as “Outdoor / Long Term” on airport approach roads off Sir Richard Williams Avenue. You take a ticket or use a pre-booked QR code at the entry gate and pay at the pay stations or exit gate on return. Standard stays run from a single day to several weeks, with overstay fees charged per additional 24-hour block.
There’s no height restriction like the multistorey P1, so larger SUVs with roof pods or light commercial vehicles fit without drama. Being an uncovered surface lot, you won’t find EV chargers, shade sails, or premium bays; think lined tarmac, basic lighting, and patrols. If your car doesn’t like sitting in full Adelaide summer sun, bring a windscreen shade and crack the windows slightly.
Build a 15–20 minute buffer from parking in P2 to reaching your T1 gate, covering the walk or shuttle plus check-in queues. If you’re landing late at night, snap a photo of your row and nearest pole number; finding a white Corolla in a dim outdoor lot at 23:30 is its own sport.
