Ice Cream Kiosk

T2

T2’s Ice Cream Kiosk is the quickest sugar hit in the terminal

Right in Addis Ababa’s Terminal T2, Ice Cream Kiosk is the grab-and-go spot when you want something cold and sweet but don’t have time for a full café stop. It sits airside in the international terminal, so you’re already past security and only a few minutes’ walk from most T2 gates. Think basic freezer counter, not a sit-down parlor.

Pricing tends to be airport-normal for Addis Ababa: expect a single scoop to land in the modest-but-not-cheap range compared with city prices, and factor in a small premium because it’s inside T2. You pay at the counter, usually in Ethiopian birr, with card acceptance varying by day and machine, so keeping a bit of cash on hand helps. Portions run on the modest side, so order two scoops if you’re heading into a long-haul night flight.

The menu leans on familiar flavors rather than anything experimental: standard chocolate, vanilla, and fruit styles show up most often in the freezers at T2. This kiosk is better as a quick treat for kids or a palate reset between Ethiopian Airlines segments than as a full dessert stop. Expect very limited seating nearby; you’re mostly standing or walking the cone back toward your gate.

Service at the T2 Ice Cream Kiosk tracks with terminal traffic: during late-night bank departures around 22:00–02:00, you may hit a short line, while midday off-peak hours can mean you’re in and out in under five minutes. There’s no mobile ordering, no loyalty tie-ins with Ethiopian Airlines, and no combo deals with neighboring outlets in T2.

Practical tip: if your gate is on the far end of T2, stop at the kiosk before you head down to the last few remote gates, since options thin out noticeably once you leave the main central spine of the terminal.
