Main Terminal layout and check-in

Only one building handles all flights at Zabol Airport, and locals just call it the Main Terminal. Iran Aseman Airlines and Qeshm Air both check in here, usually with just a couple of desks open per flight. The setup is simple: a basic departures hall at ground level, a small check-in area, and security screening directly behind the counters. Arrive at least 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time on your ticket; check-in cutoffs can feel sudden when staff close a counter and walk off.

Security and boarding gates

Security in the Main Terminal feeds into a single gate zone, since ACZ handles only a handful of departures per day on Iran Aseman and Qeshm Air. Expect one security line, manual document checks, and older-style metal detectors. Boarding usually happens from ground level via buses or a short walk across the ramp, so hold on to your paper boarding pass because scanners sometimes fail. When in doubt, stand near the desk marked with your flight number and departure time; there are not many signage boards.

Food and drink options

No branded restaurants or cafés are catalogued inside the Main Terminal at ACZ, and many passengers report eating before arriving. Bring bottled water and snacks bought in town, keeping local security rules about liquids in mind. If a small kiosk is open near the check-in side, prices are usually in Iranian rial and cash-only, with a basic selection that might run out before the last Iran Aseman flight of the day. Do not count on coffee after late-evening departures.

Lounges, seating, and waiting areas

There are no listed airline lounges in the Main Terminal, even for Iran Aseman or Qeshm Air passengers with status. Seating in the public hall and the gate area tends to be simple metal or plastic chairs in short rows. Power outlets can be scarce, and older sockets may not grip plugs tightly, so charge your phone fully before arriving. If you need quieter space, sit closer to the far end of the departures hall, away from the main entrance doors and security line.

Shops, services, and facilities

No formal shops are catalogued at Zabol Airport’s Main Terminal, and duty-free is not listed for ACZ. You might find a small counter selling newspapers or snacks, but stock levels vary day to day. ATMs and currency exchange are not reliably documented here, so plan cash and payments before you reach the airport. Keep basic items like tissues, hand sanitizer, and a pen in your carry-on; buying small necessities on-site can be impossible after the final Qeshm Air departure.

Ground transport and arrivals

All arrivals at ACZ come into the same Main Terminal hall, with baggage claim just a few steps from the exit doors. With only a few flights, bags from an Iran Aseman or Qeshm Air arrival usually appear quickly, often within 15–20 minutes. Taxis and private cars wait directly outside the terminal, and there is no complex curb system to figure out. Agree a fare in Iranian rial before you get into a taxi; card payments are rarely taken.

One last tip

Because ACZ runs a lean operation with just the Main Terminal and two airlines, flights bunch up around peak times. Build a 30–40 minute buffer beyond what you’d usually allow: eat before you get here, bring water and a phone power bank, and treat the terminal as a straightforward boarding point rather than part of the trip plan.
