Seven-minute walk from Terminal 1: Cabuya Café keeps it simple
Cabuya Café sits landside before security at Cóbano Airport’s Terminal 1, handy if you arrive early for a 7:00 AM check-in or have someone to meet. It runs straight through the day from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so you can grab something both on the first and last flights. Being outside the secure area means you need to watch the time and still leave a buffer for security and boarding.
Price-wise, think single dollar-sign café: coffee and snacks sit at the low end for an airport, closer to street pricing than big-hub terminal markups. With a 4-star rating, it punches above what you usually get in a tiny field like ACO. This is the spot for a quick bite while you wait for a taxi or before a short domestic hop, not a long sit-down meal.
The menu leans local and simple. Order the Coconut Macaroons first; they’re the house signature and show up in nearly every mention of the place. Pair them with a basic brewed coffee rather than anything fancy—machines here are more “small-town café” than specialty shop. Expect counter service, paper cups, and limited seating, so plan to move on once you’re done.
Since Cabuya Café is outside security, you can use it even if you’re not flying, but you cannot pop back out after screening. There’s no gate number attached to it, so think of it as part of the small Terminal 1 check-in hall rather than anything near boarding doors. If you cut it close, remember that even a single security lane can suddenly back up 10–15 minutes.
Tip: If your flight boards around 5:00 PM, swing by Cabuya Café by 4:15 PM at the latest so you still have time to clear security and walk to the single Terminal 1 departure area without stress.
