Perfume Avenue

T1 duty free strip has Perfume Avenue as the anchor

Right in T1’s main departures duty free zone at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Perfume Avenue is the primary stop for fragrances and cosmetics. The shop sits airside after security and immigration, so you need a boarding pass in hand before you can walk in. It mainly targets international departures, and you’ll usually spot it along the central walk toward the gates, not tucked down a side corridor.

Expect mostly mid-range to premium brands, with pricing in naira and often a USD equivalent printed on the shelf tags. Stock leans toward 50 ml and 100 ml bottles, plus standard gift sets that are easy to throw into a carry-on. This is a duty free-style operation, so you pay at a central till before they bag and seal items for hand-carry through the gate checks.

Opening hours roughly track the international bank of flights, so you’ll usually find Perfume Avenue open from early morning departures around 06:00 through late evening waves that push past 22:00. Staff often hover with tester strips and can usually walk you through differences between EDT and EDP in the same line. Expect a quick in-and-out stop to run 10–15 minutes, more if you want to test several scents.

Selection leans heavily on mainstream crowd-pleasers you’d see at most big duty free counters, so treat this as a place to restock a known favorite rather than hunt down limited editions. If you’re tight on time in T1, note which fragrance you want before you arrive; walk straight to that brand’s shelf, grab your bottle, and head to the till to keep the stop under 5 minutes.
