Hudson News

Near T1 departures, Hudson News is the grab‑and‑go stop.

Right by security in Terminal T1, Hudson News covers the basics: bottled water, soft drinks, chips, nuts, and chocolate bars, all at typical airport markups of roughly 20–40% over city prices. It’s small, so you’re in and out in under five minutes if you already know what you want. This is the spot for a quick top‑up before you face boarding lines at gates in T1.

Hours generally track flight banks, opening ahead of first morning departures and staying open into late evening departures from T1, though it may close between quieter waves. Expect a limited rack of magazines and a few local and international newspapers rather than a full bookstore setup. Basic travel items appear on pegboards near the counter: neck pillows, power banks, and universal adapters that cost more than in town but can save you if your charger dies at gate D8.

You’ll also find small toiletries – toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, wipes, and painkillers in travel sizes – handy if you arrived on an overnight flight into ABV and connect out of T1 without leaving the airport. Snack choices lean heavily toward packaged items with long shelf life, so don’t expect fresh sandwiches or salads here; think biscuits, candy, and instant noodles instead.

Cards are usually accepted alongside cash, but have a bit of naira ready in case network issues hit the POS system, which still happens occasionally in Abuja. One last tip: if you’re picky about snacks, buy in the city; use Hudson News at T1 as your backup for water, chargers, and “I forgot this” items only.
