Free parking at ABR makes paid valet a non-issue

Aberdeen Regional Airport’s only public option is a free self-park lot directly in front of the terminal; there is no operating Valet Parking service on site. The lot sits just across the access road from the entrance, so you’re talking a walk of roughly 1–3 minutes from most spaces to the doors. If a booking site or third-party app sells “Valet Parking” at ABR, treat it as marketing language for the same free lot, not a staffed hand-off service.

The airport’s official parking page from the City of Aberdeen lists one category: Free Parking for all passengers, with no daily or hourly fee and no ticket pulled at entry. There’s no mention of attendants, key drop, or curbside handover that you’d associate with true valet. Plan as if you’ll park your own car, lock it, and walk in; factor maybe 5 minutes total from turning off 6th Avenue SE to standing at the check-in counter.

Because parking at ABR is free 24/7, there’s no incentive for the airport to run a higher-priced valet tier, and no posted premium section or reserved valet lane near the curb. For early-morning flights around 5:00–7:00 a.m., regulars report the front rows closest to the terminal entrance fill first, but the back of the same lot usually has open spots. You won’t be circling multiple garages or levels here.

Practical tip: if any website tries to upcharge you for “Valet Parking” at Aberdeen Regional Airport, skip it and drive straight to the official free lot in front of the terminal instead; save the cash for something in town.
