Gate-side souvenirs in T1 without leaving the secure area
Terre d’Ivoire sits in Terminal T1, past security, so you can grab last‑minute souvenirs without backtracking toward check‑in. It’s a compact shop, easy to spot along the main departures corridor before the T1 gates start to branch off. Figure 10–15 minutes is enough to browse and still make a nearby boarding call.
Souvenir focus here leans heavily on Côte d’Ivoire themes: expect branded mugs and magnets, small masks, cocoa‑related gifts, and textiles with Abidjan prints. Pricing runs higher than city shops; a basic keychain can hit 3,000–4,000 XOF and T‑shirts often land north of 10,000 XOF. Good spot if you forgot a gift in Plateau or Marcory and don’t want to show up empty‑handed.
The shop usually opens in sync with T1’s first international departures, around 06:00, and stays open into the late‑evening wave that wraps close to 22:00. That means most Air Côte d’Ivoire and regional flights through T1 have at least some overlap with its hours. If you’re on a very late‑night departure after 22:30, don’t count on it being open.
Best buys: compact items that pack easily, like small wooden carvings, spices, and boxed cocoa products you can slide into a 7–10 kg cabin bag. Skip bulky décor pieces; they’re awkward in the overhead bins and don’t come in protective packaging. Card payments are accepted, but have a backup card in case one network declines.
Tip: If your gate in T1 is under a 5‑minute walk, shop first, then head to boarding when the screen flips to “Final Call” rather than cutting it close before security.
