Short Stay Parking

Short stay

$12 caps your 24-hour bill in ABI’s “Short Stay” lot

Short Stay Parking at Abilene Regional is just the front terminal lot everyone uses, not a separate garage or premium area. It sits directly in front of the Main Terminal, about a 1 minute walk from the doors, so you’re basically at the check-in counters as soon as you lock the car.

Pricing runs on a stepped table: it’s free for the first 0–30 minutes, then $5 for 30–60 minutes, and it scales up to a maximum of $12 for 18–24 hours. That makes same-day business runs and quick drop-offs cheap, since you pay by the hour instead of a flat daily fee until you hit that $12 cap.

There is no separate short-term structure at ABI; airport administration lists a single at-terminal lot with one rate chart and no extra “premium” tier. Any “Short Stay” label you see in third-party tools is just describing this same front-lot parking, roughly a 1 minute walk to the Main Terminal entrance.

The ugly detail here is the lost ticket policy: the system auto-charges a $400 Lost Ticket Fee if you can’t present your original ticket at exit. You can request an adjustment within 10 calendar days with proof of your actual parking duration, but that headache stings on what was supposed to be a $5 or $12 short stay.

Disabled Veterans and holders of Purple Heart, Prisoner of War, or Medal of Honor plates can get their parking refunded after paying, handled through the airport rather than at the gate. If that applies to you, keep your receipt from this lot and plan a quick stop at airport administration within those same 10 days.

Tip: treat the paper ticket like a boarding pass—snap a photo of it with the license plate in frame the moment you park so you have backup if it goes missing.
