VIP Lounge

Lounge

1

Gate-side, this is basically ABB’s only real lounge option

VIP Lounge sits in Terminal 1 at Asaba International Airport, just past security and before the main boarding area. Space is small by big-hub standards, but it still beats waiting in the general seating by the gates in T1. Signage can be subtle, so look for the “VIP Lounge” board near the upper-level departure area.

Hours track the day’s flights from Terminal 1, so expect it to open a bit before the first morning departures and close after the last evening boarding call. There’s usually basic seating, power outlets around a portion of the room, and air-conditioning that runs more reliably than in the public hall. Access is typically through airline invitation, a paid door fee quoted in naira, or inclusion with certain business-class tickets on regional routes.

Food and drink are limited: think light snacks, maybe simple hot items at peak times, and soft drinks rather than a full bar. Don’t count on barista coffee or branded premium spirits; treat anything beyond water and soda as a bonus. Wi‑Fi speed depends heavily on how many passengers from a single narrow-body flight are inside at once, so download heavy files before heading to Terminal 1.

There are no clear “best seats” tricks from regulars yet, but arriving 45–60 minutes before a scheduled ABB departure usually gives you a chair and a working outlet. Tip: confirm your boarding gate number on the Terminal 1 screens before settling in, since announcements in the lounge can be easy to miss over conversation and TV volume.
