Gate-side basics in Terminal 1 before you forget something

Travel Essentials sits in Terminal 1 at Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto International Airport, airside after security, so you can grab last-minute items without backtracking. It’s the standard “forgot-it-at-home” stop: neck pillows, plug adapters, basic phone accessories, and snacks geared toward short domestic hops out of Samarinda.

Pricing runs above city shops but normal for airports in Indonesia: expect to pay around IDR 80,000–150,000 for a travel pillow and IDR 50,000–100,000 for cables or small power adapters. It’s still cheaper and less marked up than buying the same items on board some carriers at AAP.

Opening hours generally track the first and last departures in Terminal 1, roughly 06:00 to 21:00, so morning flyers to Jakarta or Balikpapan can still grab toiletries or stationery after security. If you land on a late evening arrival around 21:30, don’t count on it being open for a quick restock.

Stock leans heavily toward essentials rather than souvenirs: think travel-size toothpaste and shampoo, basic over-the-counter relief for headaches or motion sickness, simple power banks, and a few kid distractions like small toys and coloring books. If you need more serious electronics than a 10,000 mAh power bank, buy in Samarinda before heading to the airport.

Tip: if you realize at check-in that you forgot a charging cable or adapter, clear security in Terminal 1 first and hit Travel Essentials on the way to your gate instead of paying higher prices on the plane.
